La Lume

A stunning metamorphosis of a 1955, 2500 Sq. Ft. home into a luminous sanctuary. Inspired by the vibrant cultures of Central America to the mystique of Morocco, La Lume is a celebration of cross-cultural elegance and craftsmanship. Stripping it to its core offered us the freedom to reimagine and rebuild from the ground up, infusing the space with oversized structural steel windows that frame every view, allowing natural light to flood the interiors and highlight the seamless integration of space and nature. Artfully combining wood, concrete, and plaster, sculpting each element to create a mindful, multi-disciplinary masterpiece - a nod to the rich tapestry of our global influences. Wabi Sabi minimalism meets the Mojave.

Inspired by countless journeys to the desert, this project is a dream come true! As a long-held vision of my dear friend, and fellow creative powerhouse, to own and create a slice of desert paradise, collaborating to transform this 1954 masonry gem was a true labor of love, requiring an extensive renovation. We embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, reimagining it from top to bottom, inside and out, into the stunning retreat it is today. With soaring raised ceilings and a bespoke masonry fire pit, every detail and surface was meticulously crafted, all while preserving the home’s original masonry structure and wood beams. Influences from personal cultural heritage and a collection from global travels infuse every corner with unique charm and inspiration.

Designed with tender loving care, The Lofty Cabin is a bespoke retreat nestled on 5 magical acres of untouched desert land, surrounded by million-dollar mountain vistas. This bright, spacious, and airy haven with original interior stone work, beamed high ceilings and masonry fireplace from the 50’s, combines a curated collection of mid-century modern furniture, art, and cherished African family artifacts that adorn the space. Created with a heartfelt passion for escaping city life, TLC offers a peaceful sanctuary amidst native landscape, under starry skies. A space where every detail is infused with love, creating an oasis of tranquility and inspiration.

Tasked with elevating this home to reflect the owner's love for the desert, we embarked on a transformative journey to create Casa Calma. The vision was to blend a calming, neutral palette with large, original paintings and artful, earthy touches throughout. The home underwent a complete inside-and-out revamp, including new windows, interior design features and elevated landscaping; adorned with exquisite artworks and bespoke details, creating a harmonious sanctuary infusing love into both the old and the new. The result is a serene paradise where peaceful respite meets artistic elegance.
